i won't bet on it, traffic on the causeway is TERRIBLE. anyway, YES I CAN'T WAIT, it's one day after EYAs haha so only one night to pack..
AND ONLY TWO HOURS IN ONE UTAMA? that's a crime!
anyway, as an optional part of this malaysia trip, 30 of us signed up to be buddies for the TKC students. apparently TKC is our sister school, and "our relationship is an important part of s'pore's and m'sia's bilateral ties!!!" - Mr. Azahar
so the students arrived on thursday at 2.45, though they were supposed to be there 2 hours before, but because of the CAUSEWAY... so me, wenting, lifang, cassandra and valerie practically stoned there for two hours?!
then when the bus came, everyone was a bit anxious, worried about whether it'll be awkward talking to our buddies, then we lined up in the front of the bus and took whichever buddy came down the bus first.
my buddy is NISHA! (: i think i'm very very lucky, cause nisha is super duper nice, and she's kind of like me. so then we all sat down to have the catered lunch, and me and nisha were like talking like nobody's business, while the rest of the 8 people at the table were like *SILENCE* and it was so awkward. then i thought, hmm maybe it's supposed ot be basic courtesy to not talk when you eat, so i stopped. then after awhile Nisha said "wah this table so quiet". and then we were off again, haha then slowly the rest of the table started talking.
next day was national day celebrations in school, my dad was the guest of honour HAHAHAHA his speech was okay la, omg when he went on stage, almost all of 402 and a bit of 401 turned around and gave me THE LOOK lol
the concert was okay, i tried to involve nisha in our sec4 fashion show by making her throw the colourful capteh with me and peiying, turned out feeling so extra hahahaha our 10 seconds of fame! (10 seconds of embarrassment according to nisha)
then community singing! we all put our arms around each others shoulders and started singing, and then i suddenly saw my dad looking in my direction, so i waved, AND THEN HE STARTED WALKING TOWARDS MY DIRECTION, and val teo they all SCREAMED hahaha i have no idea why the natural reaction is to scream when you see the GOH being gatal, anyway while my dad was making his way up towards us, there was more screaming LOL
after the concert, we had reception in the KS Chee, ate so much! then we talked somemore, took pictures, tried to play games. then mr chew took over and we had to discuss the areas of cooperation between rgs and tkc yada yada
then after that the tkc students went off the vivocity, only returning at 7.30 to watch the opening ceremony of the beijing olympics and eat dinner at school, too bad i couldn't stay back, it was my parent's anniversary sorry!
we all got this tissue packet holder souvenir from the school thing, and nisha gave me a few tokens which she bought herself from m'sia - a sepak takraw ball keychain, a beaded bracelet and a handpainted coconut shell hairband. so sweet! i gave her a token too, some box thingy which i put my stars and roses in lol
next day - National day!
the parade was quite normal lah, boring, but one interesting point is that of all the ndps i've been to, this is the only one where it rained! so quite an experience, everyone had their ponchos on! oh and the black knights were super cool, they made a heart in the air using smoke from their jets! and two of the flew towards each other at high speeds, and it looked like they were gonna crash, but they missed each other by a very close margin
the fireworks were good too, one of the only reasons why i don't glue my butt to my chair and refuse to go for ndp
i told nisha that she spoilt my camera with her face HAHAHAHAHA (:
